The following volunteer slots are open to anyone looking to fill their required 12 hours of volunteer service.

The following volunteer openings for the tournament this weekend are available on a first come first serve basis.

Tournament News PeeWee A′s WIN 3rd Place Championship!

Another weekend of tournaments for our Irondale Knights

           
The PeeWee A team is in Albert Lea
The PeeWee C team is in Buffalo
The Squirt B and C  teams are in Inver Grove Heights

Almost everyone is on the ice somewhere so check out the Master Schedule and go watch a game.

Results Friday:
PeeWee A - tied Spring Lake Park in their first game of their round robin tournament and play 2 games on Saturday.
PeeWee C - first 2 games will be on Saturday in Buffalo
Squirt B - lost their first game against the home team of Inver Grove Heights
Squirt C - lost their first game against the home team of Inver Grove Heights

Results Saturday:
PeeWee A - lost their second game of the round robin tournament against the home team of Albert Lea and Won their third game against Waseca
PeeWee C - lost their first game against the home team of Buffalo and lost a close game in their 2nd game of the day against St. Mary's Point.
Squirt B - lost a close game against Tartan
Squirt C - lost their 2nd game of the tournament against Prior Lake

Results Sunday:
PeeWee A - WON the 3rd Place Championship with a win over Sioux Falls
PeeWee C - WON their final game of the tournament over Johnson.
Squirt B - lost their final game of the tournament to Burnsville.
Squirt C - WON their final game of the tournament over Eden Prairie

Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction – Jan 17


When:  Saturday, January 17th

Where:  Moe's of Mounds View 2400 County Hwy 10
What:  Breakfast and Silent Auction to benefit Irondale/St. Anthony High School Boys Hockey
Cost:  $8.00 each.  
 

Moe’s will again host our pancake breakfast.  They now offer a buffet style pancake breakfast.  The players will be there to serve 

You can purchase tickets at the door or from any High School Player.  Click on the feedback button if you need some tickets.

The silent auction is one of the best around!  You will find great items for Valentine's Day!  Don't miss it!


 


 
Girls 14U team is Ranked #9 in Minnesota!

Congratulations to our girls 14U Team!


In the December 31, 2009 edition of Let's Play Hockey, the U14B Irondale Knights are listed in the top ten at number 9!  They moved up 1 spot from the December 18th position of 10th.

Our 14U Girls are a combined team of Irondale and Spring Lake Park Girls.  Congratulations on your achievements and keep it going!

Celebrate Hockey Day in Minnesota January 17, 2009

Join the Squirt C team at Central Park in St. Anthony in celebration of Hockey Day in Minnesota.  They will scrimmage Mounds View Black.

The game is on Saturday January 17.  The scrimmage starts at 3:00pm

Chuck A Puck Big Success at Thanksgiving Tournament!

THANKS to all of our volunteers
Many players and parents helped out at this years Chuck a Puck at the SRS, but none did as much to get people off their wallets than the members of the 10U team.  IYHA was able to raise over $1,400 at this years Thanksgiving event because of everyone's hard work.  Look for Chuck a Puck at the January SRS and please be a part if its success.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Minnesota Wild program sales on December 3rd.  Our Irondale Knights did a great job selling programs.  We will share how much the Association earned from the program sales as soon as we find out.

Beginners Hockey Program through New Brighton Parks & Rec

New Brighton Parks is offering a Beginners Hockey Program in January


This is a great way to help recruit your siblings, neighbors and classmates into our favorite sport of hockey. The program below is a low cost, low commitment way for new players to get an introduction to the sport.  Andy Soltvedt, New Brighton Parks Recreation Supervisor would also appreciate donations of Mite sized helmets and sticks. See program description below.
Rink Rat Hockey
This program meets once a week (outdoors at Hansen Park) and is designed to teach very basic ice hockey skills. An instructor will provide a half hour of activities to teach the game of hockey. There are no formal games with other teams, however there will be 30 minute scrimmages during each session. All participants must provide their own hockey skates, helmet with mask, mouth guard, and a hockey stick. If you are interested in donating a helmet or stick that is in good condition, please contact Andy at 651-638-2124.
